Privacy & Cookies

A plain-language explanation of the limited information this website processes and the choices available to you.

Effective: 26 July 2026
The short version: BrandsTalks does not use analytics, advertising pixels or behavioural tracking. No non-essential cookies are set by this website.

Who is responsible

Mick Brands, trading as BrandsTalks in Ireland, is responsible for the personal data described on this page. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to mick@brands-talks.com.

Information processed when you visit

The website is delivered and protected by Cloudflare. Like most hosting and security services, Cloudflare may process technical information such as an IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps and security signals. This is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose technical problems.

The legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website. Technical records are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for security and troubleshooting, subject to Cloudflare's configured retention and legal obligations. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for more information.

Cookies and similar technologies

BrandsTalks does not currently use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, conversion tracking or behavioural profiling.

Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security or load-balancing cookies when its protection features require them. These support the service you request by keeping the website available and secure; they are not used by BrandsTalks for advertising. Because the site uses no optional cookies, there is currently no consent banner.

If optional analytics or marketing technology is introduced later, this notice and the consent mechanism will be updated before that technology is activated.

Keynote Finder

Your answers in the Keynote Finder are processed in your browser to generate a recommendation. They are not sent to BrandsTalks or stored by the website.

When you contact BrandsTalks

If you email or contact Mick through LinkedIn, the information you choose to provide is used to respond, discuss an event or speaking engagement, and manage the resulting professional relationship.

The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible agreement, performing an agreement where applicable, and the legitimate interest in answering business enquiries. Correspondence is retained while it is relevant to the enquiry or relationship and then deleted when no longer needed, except where legal, tax or administrative obligations require longer retention.

LinkedIn is a separate service with its own privacy practices. Simply viewing this website does not send information to LinkedIn; that happens only if you choose to follow a LinkedIn link.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal data, object to certain processing, or receive data you provided in a portable format. You may also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.

To exercise a right, email mick@brands-talks.com. Enough information may be requested to verify the request and protect your data.

Changes to this notice

This page will be updated when the website's data practices change. The effective date above shows the latest revision.
